Chandana Das from Margram, Murshidabad is a weaver who has been involved in the weaving business for the last 10 years. She used to take raw material from the moneylender, make sarees from it and then give those sarees back to the moneylender, for which she got paid a nominal amount with the help of which she makes her family survive.
At present I am able to earn more through marketing the products on various social media platforms, creating catalogues, creating designs all with the help of the training given by Digital Empowerment Foundation and I no longer have to rely on moneylenders, says Chandana. She makes proper catalogues of all her products and then post it on social media through which she is reaching to a larger number of people and eventually getting more number of orders. All in all, her weaving business is doing well now.
